Things to do in Bali (Part 2) Handara Gate, Ulun Danu Temple, Wanagiri Hidden Hills, Banyumala Twin Waterfalls

September 24, 2022

Ola!

I'm back guys! As I said before that currently we're staying in Bali for a while. So I will keep writing about our story here. Yup we wanna give you information about things to do while we're here. So here we go with #lifeinbaliseries.

I personally came to Bali countless time. It started  in 2012 for my first trip and then I dunno why but I just keep coming back here :D. This time I wanna write about the trip to North Bali area.  As usual you can use my itinerary or just customize it as you want.

ciee 💓

We usually rent a car with driver with the fee usually around IDR 500K including gasoline. If we rent a car it will be easier for us to arrange and customize where we wanna go. Sometimes we use a tour tho, it depends on our mood 😜 I mean if you have your own plan then just rent a car but if you have no plan at all better to do it using a tour. The guide will accompany and explain everything to you. This time we just rented a car and do it with our plan.

It was such a long journey. It took almost 2 hours to arrive in Bedugul area. I remember I was having a car sick but don't worry nothing happened lol. Just remember maybe it will be better to bring some snacks because we forgot to bring at that time :D Well you can just  stop by in the closest  convenient stores like Alfamart or Indomaret tho.

We decided to go to Northern area of Kuta Bali this time. We wanted to go to explore and take some pictures in Handara gate, Ulun danu Beratan temple, twin lakes, Banyumala twin waterfall and Wanagiri Hills.

So let's get started!

1. Handara Gate

It's actually a gate or entrance to the golf resort called Handara. But this spot become so popular and iconic so  people would just stop by here and take pictures. I remember we were queuing as we're not the only couple who wants to take pictures here. It's nice as they also took the pictures for us.  😃

It was a very quick visit since we were just coming here for taking this picture :D

2. Ulun Danu Beratan Temple

The location is in Bedugul.  The weather was cold but very nice. It's so peaceful here. As for the entrance fee is IDR 75K/Foreigner and IDR 30K/local.  I think It's one of must visit place while you're here. I remember we were just strolling around  here and took many pictures. At that time they were praying so there're so many people here. We could see them pray and we took some pictures. Nice experience.

There's a restaurant here so you can just sit back and relax and of course order the food or coffee. We came here so early so we didn't go to the restaurant. We were just strolling around and exploring this place. It's a nice and big enough to be explored.

There are so many spots that you can choose for taking pictures. It felt nice and relaxing here. Just enjoy the view and looking at the lake.

3. Twin Lakes

The location is in Munduk. Actually the driver was the one who recommended this place. He said because we're here so why don't we visit  this lake. Yup so we visited and it was nice. I don't remember exactly whether we paid for the entrance fee or not. It was a very quick visit for us.

Sorry I didn't capture the twin lakes

4. Wanagiri Hidden Hills

This one also in Munduk. Here you can take so many pictures like in a nest, swing etc. The background view will be of course the twin lakes 😁 The entrance fee is IDR 50K and if you wanna take a pic in the nest or swing if I'm not mistaken you'll need to pay IDR 10K/spot. I couldn't remember exactly sorry guys since I did this trip before and I forgot to write it down :D

Had so many pics but we don't wanna show our face :D

5. Banyumala Twin Waterfalls

This one is the funniest  during our trip. It's because our driver didn't know the location of this waterfalls so we got lost lol. Well it's actually harder than we think. The narrow road and from the parking lot we had to walk to reach the waterfall. I wasn't ready as I didn't know it will be hard. It was so tiring for me 😭😅 But it was a nice experience and we could see nice view. We walked so much and finally reached our destination but we still had to walk to the waterfall. Be careful because it's slippery. This time the driver came with us because he said he also wanted to know. Well we didn't  swim, we only touch the water and took some pictures here.  Even tho it was so tiring but it was fun to explore a new place.

If you're thinking about exploring and this kind of activities, you should exercise first. Some of the places in Bali are a bit challenging and you'll need stamina for that. Don't forget to bring sunscreen, water and clothes. Then you'll be ready for the activities!

Tips for you guys.

It will be more affordable if you just ride a bike and it will be more fun. If you are in  a group it will be better if you just rent a car. You can arrange the schedule and customize it.  There are so many places to visit in Bali. Explore more and I hope you guys enjoy the story!

Next I will share the story when we explored Sothern area of Kuta. We visited GWK Statue and some hidden gems. I found those places 2,5 years ago when I lived in Jimbaran. So I asked hubby to go there :D

See you guys in my next story! I will share the story about GWK Statue, Watching Kecak Dance Performance in Uluwatu Temple and Honeymoon Beach.

Ate ja!
